When you enter the Dashboard on your administrator account, you will see the familiar choices on the left. Navigate to the Appearance option, drop it down, and you will see the widgets option. This will allow you to place different widgets on the different parts of your site. No matter where you put it, the widget will always be in that spot regardless of which portion of your site you visit. These widgets are considered a static device, as they do not move. Each theme and template will come included with different locations for widgets, so the location of the Wordpress Widgets will be customizable only by the template.

Each widget is designed with a purpose, and many of these widgets can be used to augment your site and add features. Nearly every single widget is free, so you will not have to pay anything to add these additional features to your site. While Wordpress Widgets cannot break your site, they will definitely be capable of making your site into something much better. Use these widgets when appropriate, as you do not want to make your site this abominable mass of unintelligible Wordpress Widgets.
